KARACHI: Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited has partnered with NED University of Engineering & Technology to sponsor the regional round of the World Startup Championship – SEE Pakistan 2026, reinforcing its commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs and strengthening Pakistan’s innovation ecosystem.
The initiative was carried out through the company’s flagship social investment programme, Tameer, which focuses on creating opportunities for students and aspiring entrepreneurs to develop innovative business ideas.
Regional competition showcases student-led startups
The regional event brought together more than 300 student-led startups from universities across Sindh.
Participants presented their business ideas, interacted with industry experts, received professional feedback and competed for a place in the national stage of the World Startup Championship, an international entrepreneurship competition held annually.
Partnership aims to strengthen innovation ecosystem
According to Wafi Energy Pakistan, the collaboration reflects the company’s broader vision of investing in Pakistan’s youth and supporting innovative ideas with long-term economic and social impact.
The company said partnerships between universities, industry and startups are essential for helping promising ideas grow into sustainable businesses.

Imran Qureshi, Director Corporate & Government at Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, said young entrepreneurs in Pakistan have the creativity and determination to address many of the country’s challenges.
He said the partnership with NED University and SEE Pakistan is intended to provide students with greater access to mentorship, networking opportunities and platforms that can help transform innovative ideas into successful businesses.
Through its Tameer programme, Wafi Energy Pakistan said it will continue supporting initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, job creation and innovation, contributing to Pakistan’s long-term economic development.
