Pakistan’s Ufone 5G has won two awards at the Dragons of Asia Awards 2026, including a Gold Dragon for its ‘Super 5’ campaign and a Black Dragon for ‘Babar Azam’s Lost Phone’.

The telecom brand received the Gold Dragon in the Best in Media category, making Ufone the only telecom brand from Pakistan to win Gold at this year’s awards. Its ‘Babar Azam’s Lost Phone’ campaign won a Black Dragon in the Marketing Discipline category.

‘Super 5’ Campaign Wins Gold

The Gold-winning campaign promoted Ufone’s Super 5 package, which allows customers to share data, calls and SMS with four friends or family members.

The campaign featured comedian and television host Tabish Hashmi alongside former Pakistan cricketers Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq and Saeed Ajmal, all members of Pakistan’s 2009 ICC T20 World Cup-winning squad.

Launched in February 2026, the campaign initially generated curiosity through social media teaser videos in which the former cricketers hinted at a mysterious “selection”. The eventual advertisement revealed that the players were competing for a place in Tabish Hashmi’s Super 5 group.

The campaign ran across television and digital platforms and generated millions of online views, along with coverage from digital media outlets.

Babar Azam Campaign Earns Black Dragon

Ufone’s second award recognized its ‘Babar Azam’s Lost Phone’ campaign for the Weekly Grand Offer.

Launched in February 2025, the campaign began with Babar Azam announcing on social media that he had lost his phone and contacts. The storyline was later revealed to be part of a Ufone campaign, with the cricketer searching for his phone alongside fans before introducing the offer.

According to Ufone, the campaign generated international interest and received more than 10 million views.

Both campaigns were designed to generate audience conversation and engagement through social media, with viewers speculating about the storylines before the campaigns were revealed.

Ufone Hails International Recognition

Commenting on the awards, Syed Atif Raza, Chief Commercial Officer at PTML, said the company wanted its campaigns to become something audiences would talk about rather than simply watch.

He credited the company’s Brands and Media teams and its agency partners for the strategic thinking, creativity and execution behind the campaigns.

The Dragons of Asia recognize results-driven marketing communications across the region, with a focus on strategic insight, creativity and effective execution.
