Virat Kohli has climbed one place to second in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings after a match-winning century against the West Indies.
Kohli scored an unbeaten 139 in the opening match of India’s series against the West Indies, earning him 796 rating points and moving him back into second place.
His innings included nine sixes and marked the 55th ODI century of his career, further extending his record for the most centuries in men’s ODI cricket.
India captain Shubman Gill remains at the top of the rankings with 816 rating points, while New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell is third with 794 points. India’s Rohit Sharma occupies fourth place with 719 points.
September 27 also produced a notable milestone in men’s ODI cricket, with six centuries scored on the same day.
South Africa’s Temba Bavuma and David Miller, West Indies batter Justin Greaves and England’s Tom Banton were among those to score hundreds.
Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis climbed three places to a career-best seventh position after scoring 121 runs.
In the ODI bowling rankings, South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj moved into third place, India’s Kuldeep Yadav rose to fifth, while Australia’s Josh Hazlewood entered the top 10 at 10th position.
