BEIJING: The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing held a solemn ceremony to mark Defence and Martyrs Day, paying tribute to the courage, professionalism and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.
Senior People’s Liberation Army official Luo Huichi attended the ceremony as chief guest, while senior Chinese civil and military officials, diplomats and members of the Pakistani community also participated.
Speaking at the event, Pakistan’s Defence Attaché highlighted the professional capabilities of the armed forces and their role in safeguarding the country’s defence and security.
The ceremony also commemorated the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs, with participants acknowledging their services and contribution to the defence of the country.
Acting Chargé d’Affaires Aizaz Khan paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan and said their sacrifices would continue to be remembered with respect.
The event reflected the significance attached to Defence and Martyrs Day and also highlighted the longstanding defence and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China.
