KARACHI, July 31, 2026: A high-level United States business delegation has held talks with Sindh government officials and leading Pakistani companies to explore investment opportunities in industrial parks, ports, technology, financial services and other key sectors.
The two-day Karachi visit was facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council following the delegation’s engagements in Islamabad. It was aimed at strengthening Pakistan–U.S. economic cooperation and giving prospective investors firsthand exposure to Sindh’s industrial, maritime and commercial infrastructure.
The delegation met Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and provincial ministers to discuss potential investment in the Bin Qasim Industrial Park, Karachi Industrial Park, Keti Bandar Port, NED Tech Park and the proposed Sindh International Financial Centre.

Officials also briefed the delegation on the Sindh Business One Stop Shop, a digital platform designed to provide investors with access to approvals and government services through a single window.
Murad Ali Shah assured the delegation of the provincial government’s support for foreign investors and said public-private partnerships would play an important role in advancing major development projects.
He directed relevant provincial departments to remain in close contact with prospective investors and facilitate the follow-up process.
Delegation Visits Industrial and Port Facilities
The delegation visited the Bin Qasim Industrial Park and Karachi Industrial Park at Port Qasim, where Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation officials outlined available infrastructure, investment incentives and opportunities for export-oriented manufacturing.
At the Karachi Port Trust, officials briefed the visitors on port operations, modernisation projects and potential investment in logistics, fisheries, value-added seafood processing and shipyard development.
The delegation also toured Hutchison Ports Pakistan to review cargo-handling facilities and assess the terminal’s role in Pakistan’s maritime trade and regional connectivity.
The visits were intended to provide investors with a clearer understanding of Karachi’s industrial and logistics network and the opportunities available around the city’s ports.

Sindh Leadership Assures Support for Investors
During a separate meeting with the Sindh governor, the delegation was briefed on the province’s investment environment and the government’s efforts to facilitate international businesses.
The governor assured U.S. investors of institutional support and acknowledged SIFC’s role in connecting foreign businesses with federal and provincial authorities.
Business Leaders Discuss Key Investment Sectors
The delegation also held discussions with the Pakistan Business Council and senior executives from major companies and industry organisations.
Participants included representatives of the Pakistan Stock Exchange, Pakistan Agricultural Coalition, NRL Mining, Hilton Pharma and Unilever Pakistan.
Talks focused on opportunities in capital markets, agriculture, textiles, energy, mining, healthcare and consumer goods, as well as reforms intended to improve Pakistan’s investment climate.
Business representatives discussed the need for policy consistency, easier regulatory procedures and stronger coordination between investors and government institutions.

The delegation later met the American Business Council, which briefed members on the presence of U.S. companies in Pakistan and the council’s engagement with SIFC, the government, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the U.S. Embassy.
The meeting also covered initiatives related to health and women’s well-being.
According to SIFC, the Karachi programme allowed the delegation to assess investment opportunities through direct engagement with government officials, public institutions and the private sector.
The council said the visit reflected efforts to attract international capital, improve investor confidence and expand commercial ties between Pakistan and the United States.
