The Women’s University Swabi organized its 2025 Sports Gala for the first time at the Bamkhel Sports Complex. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Swabi, Nasrullah, and the Registrar of Women’s University Swabi, Dr. Raeesa Bano. Also present were Dr. Neelam, the university’s Sports In-charge, District Sports Officer Swabi Saeed Akhtar, and Fayaz Ahmed, In-charge of Bamkhel Sports Complex.
In his speech, Deputy Commissioner Nasrullah praised Swabi’s hospitality and its vibrant sports culture. He emphasized the importance of integrating sports into the educational system, highlighting how it fosters teamwork, discipline, and leadership skills among female students.
Dr. Raeesa Bano expressed pride in the university’s commitment to promoting women’s participation in sports. She commended the students’ enthusiasm and talent, stating that events like these contribute to their holistic personality development and boost self-confidence.
The Sports Gala featured competitions in cricket, volleyball, badminton, chess, tug-of-war, and table tennis, with active participation from affiliated colleges. The opening ceremony was beautifully organized, and the students thoroughly enjoyed the event.
This was the first event in the history of Women’s University Swabi to be held outside the university premises. Today, an inaugural ceremony will take place at the university, which will be attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Meena Khan; Minister of Sports, Fakhar Jahan; Minister of Transport, Haji Rangez; Member of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser; Shahram Khan Tarakai; Aqibullah; Minister of Water Supply, Attaullah; and other dignitaries.
