The annual Ghusl-e-Kaaba ceremony was held at the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah with deep religious devotion, where thousands of liters of rose water and Zamzam water were used to cleanse the Holy Kaaba.
The ceremony was attended on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques by the Governor of Makkah, Prince Saud bin Mishaal, who entered the Holy Kaaba after Fajr prayers and took part in the traditional cleansing ritual.
Diplomats from several Muslim countries, representatives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), religious scholars, and other dignitaries also attended the event.
Strict security arrangements were implemented inside and around Masjid al-Haram to ensure smooth proceedings, while a limited number of pilgrims were allowed to perform tawaf during the ceremony.
Authorities said the Kaaba’s door covering was temporarily lifted during the process to allow access for cleaning and ceremonial arrangements, a practice carried out as part of the annual tradition.
The Ghusl-e-Kaaba is regarded as one of the most significant religious rituals in the Islamic world, symbolizing reverence and spiritual purification of the Holy Kaaba.
