Mardan: Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Mardan, Maria Mustafa, visited Bacha Khan Medical College where she held meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation between law enforcement agencies and forensic experts.
During the visit, the SP (Investigation) was received by the dean and faculty members and also toured the Department of Forensic Medicine. She met senior faculty, including Prof. Jawad Ahmad, Prof. Faseeh-uz-Zaman, and Dr. Abdullah, to discuss areas of mutual collaboration.
The discussions focused on improving medico-legal services, forensic investigation procedures, evidence handling, and autopsy reporting. Both sides emphasized that close coordination between police and forensic departments is essential for ensuring accurate investigations and timely justice.
The meeting also explored opportunities for professional training, capacity building, and knowledge sharing to enhance investigative standards and strengthen the criminal justice system.
Officials said the visit reflects ongoing efforts to improve institutional coordination between law enforcement and medical forensic services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
