MUMBAI, October 2, 2026: Indian actress and singer Shehnaaz Gill says she does not take online trolling and sensational headlines too seriously, suggesting that people often target celebrities because they need views.
Gill frequently finds herself at the centre of rumours and online criticism, but the actress says she prefers to deal with such situations with humour rather than allowing them to affect her.
The actress, who recently appeared in the Punjabi film “Singh vs Kaur 2,” said she understands why some people create sensational headlines about her.
“I understand their purpose because they need views. Otherwise, how would they sell their stories without a negative or shocking headline?” Gill said.
She joked that whenever something she says accidentally becomes a headline, she simply hopes the people behind the story get some views because of it.
Gill also spoke about her naturally humorous personality and said her Punjabi background plays a role in the way she communicates.
“I’m Punjabi, so I don’t do comedy — I become comedy,” she said, explaining that people find her natural way of speaking entertaining and that she does not deliberately try to be funny.
The 32-year-old actress also said she has never allowed other people to dictate how she should behave in public or interact with the media.
“I’ve never allowed anyone to overpower me or tell me how I should speak, walk or behave in front of the media,” she said.
Gill added that although she has received plenty of advice about how she should present herself, she believes people should remain true to who they are.
