Raaz Actress Malini Sharma’s Life After Leaving Bollywood

Malini Sharma, who rose to fame with the 2002 Bollywood film Raaz, has stepped away from the film industry and now lives a quieter life near Pune.

The actress, who was also known for music videos, reportedly left showbiz after declining another film shortly before shooting began. She later turned to a different lifestyle focused on local food, farming and creative activities.

From Bollywood Fame to a Quiet Life

Malini Sharma gained recognition in the early 2000s through modelling, music videos and television before appearing in Raaz alongside Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea. Her appearance in the song Aapke Pyaar Mein further increased her popularity.

She also appeared in music videos including Bombay Vikings’ Kya Surat Hai and Mika Singh’s Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag. She had a role in the television series C.A.T.S. as well.

Why Did Malini Sharma Leave Films?

Following the success of Raaz, Sharma reportedly signed the film Encounter but withdrew just 48 hours before filming was scheduled to begin. She subsequently moved away from the entertainment industry and chose a different way of life.

After leaving Bollywood, she started a project called The Slow Local, centred on local food, handicrafts and creative activities.

Where Is Malini Sharma Now?

Sharma now reportedly runs a farmhouse in the Sahyadri hills near Pune. She grows vegetables there and prepares food for guests using fresh produce from the farm.

More than two decades after Raaz, she recently appeared on The Slow Local Diaries, where she shared aspects of her life away from Bollywood and spoke about her connection with nature.

Sharma was previously married to actor Priyanshu Chatterjee. Their marriage ended in divorce after several years.
