Police in Rahim Yar Khan are investigating the alleged rape and murder of a 19-year-old woman who was reportedly lured through an online work offer, officials said.

According to initial police information, the woman was allegedly called to a location on the pretext of online work and later subjected to sexual assault before being killed. Police said the final facts will be determined after medical, forensic and investigative reports are completed.

Officials said suspects, including men identified as Anas and Zeeshan, have been accused in the case along with other persons. Police said the allegations are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

Investigators are collecting evidence and reviewing all aspects of the case to establish the sequence of events and identify those responsible.

Police said the medical report and forensic evidence will be central to confirming the circumstances of the woman’s death and the nature of the assault.

The district administration said those found involved in the incident would be proceeded against under the law.

Authorities have not publicly released further details about the victim, in line with privacy concerns in cases involving sexual violence.
