Pakistan Team One Wins Two Matches at Asian Doubles Squash Championship

Pakistan Team One won both of its opening matches at the third Asian Doubles Squash Championship in Sarawak, Malaysia, and will face traditional rival India in its final pool match on Friday.

The team, comprising world under-23 champion Noor Zaman and former national champion Nasir Iqbal, defeated Japan 2-0 in its first Pool B match. The contest lasted 25 minutes.

Pakistan Team One then continued its winning run with a 2-0 victory over Singapore in just 10 minutes. The side will now play its third and final pool match against the Indian pair of Rahul and Suraj Kumar Chand.

In Pool D, Pakistan Team Two, featuring former world junior champion Muhammad Hamza Khan and international player Muhammad Asim Khan, made a strong start by defeating Chinese Taipei 2-0 in 12 minutes.

However, Pakistan Team Two lost its second match 2-0 to Singapore after a 26-minute contest.

Pakistan Team Two will face Hong Kong in its final pool match on Friday.

Pakistan Squash Federation honorary secretary Air Commodore retired Amir Nawaz is serving as team manager, while former world player Fahim Gul is coaching the squad.
