September 11, 2026: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has issued no-objection certificates (NOCs) to 165 members of Pakistan’s contingent for the 2026 Asian Games, while the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has announced a 234-member delegation for the event.
According to sources, the NOCs have so far been issued to athletes and officials representing federations affiliated with the PSB, as well as those receiving financial support from the sports board. Members representing federations that have not yet completed affiliation with the PSB have not received NOCs at this stage.
Teams prepare for departure
Pakistan’s kabaddi team is scheduled to leave Islamabad for Aichi-Nagoya on September 14, according to sources. The national hockey team is also expected to reach Aichi-Nagoya on the same day after travelling from South Korea.
The women’s cricket team is scheduled to depart from Dubai for the Asian Games on September 14.
PSB to fund 93 athletes and officials
POA Secretary Khalid Mahmood said the Pakistan Sports Board is covering the expenses of 93 athletes and officials, while the remaining members of the delegation will participate with financial support from their respective federations and the POA.
Athletes whose federations are not affiliated with the PSB and those travelling on their own funding arrangements are still awaiting NOCs.
Asian Games events begin September 17
The opening ceremony of the Asian Games is scheduled for September 19, although some competitions will begin on September 17.
Pakistan is expected to have medal hopes in several disciplines, including athletics, shooting, hockey, cricket and wushu.
