KARACHI — The 3rd Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All Pakistan Squash Championship 2025 officially commenced with an impressive opening ceremony at the Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan (RKJK) Squash Complex in Karachi. Commander Karachi, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, attended the event as Chief Guest and formally declared the championship open.
Scheduled to run from October 27 to November 2, the championship will feature 15 matches, with participation from 32 male and 16 female athletes from across the country. The inclusion of a women’s category marks a continued commitment to gender inclusivity in national sports.
In his welcome address, Tournament Director Commodore Mudassar Khurshid underscored the Pakistan Navy’s longstanding dedication to promoting sports and providing platforms for national athletes to showcase their talent. He emphasized the championship’s role in nurturing emerging squash players and reviving Pakistan’s historic prominence in the sport.
Pakistan Navy’s association with squash dates back to the early post-independence years, beginning with a single court at Manora. This legacy has evolved into the RKJK Squash Complex, inaugurated in 1991, which now houses five international-standard courts. A state-of-the-art four-sided glass court, added in 2023, further enhances the venue’s status as a premier squash facility.
The opening ceremony drew a large gathering of civil and military dignitaries, senior squash players, sponsors, and members of the media, reflecting strong support for the championship and its objectives.
The event is organized under the Directorate General Public Relations (Pakistan Navy), Naval Headquarters, Islamabad.
