ISLAMABAD, April 29 — Pakistan Army has launched retaliatory actions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border after what security sources described as an unprovoked attack by Afghan Taliban and militant elements referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij.”

According to security officials, the response is part of an operation named “Ghazab-ul-Haq,” under which Pakistani forces targeted multiple positions and vehicles in the Chaman sector. The sources said the strikes were carried out with precision, resulting in the destruction of several installations.

Cross-border tensions escalate

Security officials said the countermeasures forced opposing fighters to retreat, adding that the military remains committed to defending the country’s territorial integrity. They emphasized that operations will continue until stated objectives are achieved.

The latest development highlights renewed tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, particularly in the Chaman area, where security incidents have been reported intermittently. Officials said the situation is being closely monitored, with forces maintaining a high state of readiness.

Continued operations under security mandate

Authorities said the ongoing operation reflects a broader strategy to respond to cross-border threats and prevent further escalation. Officials reiterated that the armed forces remain prepared to take necessary measures in response to any future aggression.

No independent confirmation of casualties or damage from the other side was immediately available.
