ISLAMABAD, September 7, 2026: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) has welcomed 1,823 new undergraduate students to its Batch of 2026 through a three-day orientation programme held from September 2 to 4.
The orientation was designed to help incoming students settle into university life, understand the academic environment and connect with campus societies, clubs and fellow students.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, NUST Registrar Dr Nasir Rashid welcomed the new batch and encouraged students to make full use of the academic and extracurricular opportunities available to them.
He urged students to build meaningful connections, take on new challenges and become active members of the NUST community during their time at the university.
The first day included student reception, a dedicated session for parents, documentation and registration, a societies’ march and the official batch photograph. Parents and guardians were also briefed on campus life and the university environment.
Students later attended academic orientation sessions at their respective schools, alongside activities organised by NUST clubs and societies.
The programme also featured the closing ceremony of the NUST Summer School and a performance by the NUST Dramatics Club.
Orientation 2026 concluded with Bazm Night and a closing ceremony, marking the formal start of the academic journey for the university’s newest undergraduate intake.
NUST said the orientation programme was aimed at making the transition into university smoother while helping students familiarise themselves with the institution’s academic, social and extracurricular ecosystem.
