ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased LPG prices for June, raising the cost of a standard 11.8-kilogram domestic cylinder by Rs58.51.
According to a notification issued by the regulator, the increase takes effect immediately and will impact both household and commercial consumers who rely on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for daily energy needs.
OGRA said the price of LPG has been increased by Rs4.95 per kilogram, bringing the new rate to Rs308.76 per kg.
As a result, the price of an 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder has been set at Rs3,643.41 for June.
New LPG rates take effect
The revised prices came into effect on June 1 and will remain applicable throughout the month unless revised by the regulator.
LPG is widely used across Pakistan, particularly in areas with limited access to natural gas networks. Changes in LPG prices can directly affect household fuel costs as well as operating expenses for businesses that depend on the fuel.
Impact on consumers
The latest increase is expected to raise energy costs for domestic consumers, while commercial users may also face higher operating expenses due to the revised LPG rates.
OGRA regularly reviews and adjusts LPG prices based on pricing mechanisms and market factors before issuing monthly notifications.
