ISLAMABAD — National Skills University Islamabad marked the 150th birth anniversary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah with a British Parliamentary–style debate competition organized by its Literary Society under the banner of the Jinnah Forum.
The event brought together student teams who debated themes related to Jinnah’s political vision, leadership and role in the creation of Pakistan. Organizers said the competition aimed to encourage critical thinking and academic discussion on the country’s ideological foundations and contemporary challenges.
Participants engaged in structured arguments examining Jinnah’s principles and their relevance in present-day Pakistan. Faculty members served as adjudicators, offering feedback on research quality, argumentation and presentation.
According to the university, the event forms part of broader efforts within higher education institutions to promote debate culture and informed discourse on national history and leadership.
Certificates were awarded to winning and participating students at the conclusion of the competition in recognition of their performance and preparation.
University representatives said the initiative reflects ongoing academic activities designed to commemorate national milestones and engage students in discussions on Pakistan’s founding ideals.
