SWAT: Malakand Commissioner Masood Ahmed has said the law and order situation across the region remains fully under control, assuring residents that there is no need for concern while emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between the public and law enforcement agencies.
The remarks were made during a jirga held at the district headquarters in Matta, where senior government officials, police officers, elected representatives, and community elders discussed measures to strengthen security following the establishment of the proposed Bar Swat district.
Jirga Focuses on Security and Public Cooperation
The meeting was attended by DIG Malakand Division Syed Fida Hassan Shah, Deputy Commissioner Bar Swat Suhail Ahmed Khan, District Police Officer Bar Swat Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Member of the National Assembly Dr. Amjad Ali Khan, senior civil and police officials, and local elders.
Participants reviewed the security situation, addressed public concerns, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between local communities and law enforcement agencies.
Community elders reaffirmed their support for the administration and pledged continued cooperation in maintaining peace across the region.
Commissioner Assures Public
Addressing the jirga, Commissioner Masood Ahmed said protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the government’s highest priority.
He said all available resources are being utilized to maintain public safety and stressed that residents should not be worried, as the overall law and order situation is under control.
DIG Calls for Vigilance
DIG Malakand Syed Fida Hassan Shah said lasting peace depends on mutual trust and cooperation between the public and the police.
He urged citizens to report any suspicious activities promptly so that law enforcement agencies can take timely action against criminal and anti-state elements.
The jirga concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to supporting the administration and security agencies in promoting peace, stability, and development across Malakand Division and the proposed Bar Swat district.
