Lower Dir Excise Department Steps Up Crackdown on Illegal Cigarette Trade

TIMERGARA: The Excise Department of Lower Dir has intensified operations against the sale and transportation of illegal and unregistered cigarettes across the district, officials said.

During raids in Timergara, Nasafa and other markets, Excise teams confiscated dozens of packets of illegal cigarettes and took them into government custody. The operations were conducted under the supervision of Excise Inspector Wakeel Khan.

Warning to Shopkeepers

Speaking during the operations, Inspector Wakeel Khan warned shopkeepers against purchasing, selling or storing illegal and unregistered cigarettes.

He said legal and disciplinary action would be taken against individuals found involved in the possession or sale of illegal cigarettes during future inspections.

The Excise Department said enforcement operations would continue in different parts of Lower Dir to curb the trade in illegal goods and ensure compliance with government laws and regulations.
