An unusual case of love, theft and betrayal has emerged in India, where a 19-year-old college student allegedly stole gold jewellery from her friend’s house to buy an expensive motorcycle for her boyfriend.
According to police, the incident took place in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The student, identified as R. Joy Princy, a B.Com student, allegedly stole nine sovereigns of gold jewellery while visiting her friend’s home.
Police said the student allegedly sold the stolen jewellery and obtained around 250,000 Indian rupees, which she used to purchase a motorcycle for her boyfriend.
The theft came to light when the friend’s father discovered the missing jewellery and approached the police. During the investigation, police claimed that the student admitted to stealing the jewellery, selling it and using the proceeds to purchase the motorcycle.
The case took an unexpected turn after the boyfriend allegedly fled after receiving the expensive motorcycle. Police are now reportedly searching for him as the investigation continues.
