KP Women Commission visits girls’ school in Abbottabad, praises education reforms

ABBOTTABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Commission visited Government Girls High School Samudrakatha on the invitation of Member Provincial Assembly Amna Sardar, where officials reviewed improvements in school infrastructure and educational facilities.

The visit was led by Commission Chairperson Dr Samira Shams and Member Rehana Ismail, who were briefed by the school administration on upgrades made to classrooms, computer lab, washrooms, playground and other basic facilities. The briefing highlighted the role of Amna Sardar, her family and the local community in supporting the improvements, along with scholarships and academic assistance provided to students.

During the visit, Dr Samira Shams praised the initiative, calling it an example of public service and collective responsibility that can contribute to meaningful and sustainable improvements in government education institutions. She said similar efforts should be encouraged in other areas to enhance the quality of public schools.

Amna Sardar said investment in education is an investment in the future, adding that strengthening government schools is a shared responsibility between the state and society. She also thanked the Women Commission representatives for their visit, saying such engagement helps improve oversight and encourages better performance in public institutions.

She further credited the school principal, teachers and staff for their efforts, describing the progress as an example of teamwork and community support aimed at improving educational standards in the region.
