MARDAN: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pukhtunkhwa for Technical Education Tufail Anjum has directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary steps to prevent price hikes and hoarding of food items during the holy month of Ramadan. He was addressing a meeting held in the office of Deputy Commissioner Mardan Dr. Azmatullah Wazir, which was attended by the District Food Controller and Halal Food Authority, along with other relevant officials.
The main objective of the meeting was to determine effective measures to provide relief to the public during the blessed month of Ramadan and to combat profiteering and artificial inflation. The participants agreed that strict monitoring will be ensured daily to stabilize the prices of essential commodities and prevent illegal profiteering and hoarding.
The officials stressed on taking necessary steps for the ample supply of quality and halal products in the market and clarified that immediate legal action would be taken in case of violation. The meeting formulated a strategy to further strengthen cooperation and communication between the relevant departments and to effectively communicate with the public.
