PESHAWAR, June 4: A delegation of the Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser to the Chief Minister on Industries and Commerce Humayun Khan on Thursday to discuss investment promotion, industrial development and challenges facing the business community in the province.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the government and the private sector, improving industrial infrastructure and creating a more business-friendly environment to support economic growth, particularly in the Kohat region.
The delegation, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan, congratulated Humayun Khan on assuming his new responsibilities and held discussions on opportunities to attract investment and expand industrial activity across the province.
Senior government officials, including Industries Secretary Amjad Ali Khan and Small Industries Development Board Managing Director Abdul Hameed, also attended the meeting.
Business community highlights key concerns
Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Rasheed Paracha outlined several challenges facing businesses and emphasized the need for stronger government support to improve investor confidence and facilitate commercial activities.
He stressed that better industrial facilities and supportive policies could help increase economic activity and create new opportunities for businesses operating in the region.
The delegation also discussed measures aimed at strengthening industrial infrastructure and encouraging private-sector investment.
Government reiterates support for industry
Speaking during the meeting, Humayun Khan described industrial and commercial development as a key component of the provincial government’s economic agenda.
He said the government remains committed to working closely with the private sector to promote investment, generate employment opportunities and support industrial growth across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The adviser also assured the delegation that concerns raised by the business community would be addressed through industry-friendly policies designed to improve the investment climate and attract both local and foreign investors.
Other members of the delegation, including Waqas Paracha and retired Colonel Jawad Paracha, also participated in the discussions.
Participants agreed that continued collaboration between government institutions and the private sector would be essential for expanding trade, encouraging investment and supporting long-term economic development in the province.
