The annual ceremony to replace the Kiswah of Kaaba was held at Masjid Al Haram in Makkah at the start of the new Hijri year.
Officials from the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques and experts from the Kiswah Factory took part in the sacred process, while thousands of pilgrims continued performing tawaf, prayers, and worship inside Masjid Al Haram.
Ceremony Held At Masjid Al Haram
According to reports, the process of replacing the old Kiswah with the new one was completed in a highly organized manner.
Around 250 specialists and technical workers from the Kiswah Factory participated in the task. They carefully removed the old covering and installed the new Kiswah on the Holy Kaaba.
Process Completed In Four Hours
Haram authorities said the entire process of changing the Kiswah of Kaaba was completed in about four hours.
During the ceremony, worship and administrative activities at Masjid Al Haram continued without interruption.
How The Kiswah Is Prepared
The Kiswah of Kaaba is made from pure silk and embroidered with Quranic verses using threads of gold and silver.
Its annual replacement is considered a deeply spiritual, historic, and memorable moment for Muslims around the world.
