ISLAMABAD: Preparations for Hajj 2027 have formally begun, with Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs indicating that the mandatory registration process for intending pilgrims is expected to start later this month.

According to the ministry, the move is being undertaken in line with guidelines and timelines issued by Saudi authorities for future Hajj arrangements.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that a valid Pakistani passport will be mandatory for registration under the Hajj 2027 programme.

Passport validity requirement announced

The ministry stated that applicants must possess a Pakistani passport valid until at least November 16, 2027, in order to complete the registration process.

Officials have advised prospective pilgrims to obtain or renew their passports as soon as possible to avoid delays once registration opens.

According to the spokesperson, individuals who complete the registration process will later have the option of participating in either the government Hajj scheme or a private Hajj programme.

Overseas Pakistanis also required to register

The ministry said the registration requirement will also apply to Pakistanis residing abroad who intend to perform Hajj in 2027.

Details regarding Hajj package costs, eligibility criteria, and other terms and conditions will be announced separately under the forthcoming Hajj policy.

Authorities said additional information and the formal registration schedule will be released once the process is officially launched.
