A petition has been filed in the Islamabad High Court challenging the alleged solitary confinement of Bushra Bibi, requesting the court to declare the move illegal and unconstitutional.

According to the petition, filed by her daughter Mubashra Khawar Maneka through Barrister Salman Safdar, Bushra Bibi is being kept in solitary confinement, which the petitioner claims is violating her fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.

Allegations of violation of basic rights

The petition states that the practice of solitary confinement is severely affecting her mother’s basic constitutional rights. It argues that the detention conditions are unlawful and need to be reviewed by the court.

The applicant has requested the Islamabad High Court to declare the alleged solitary confinement illegal and to immediately order its termination.

Request for urgent hearing

The petition further urges the court to take immediate notice of the matter and issue directions to end the solitary confinement arrangement without delay.
