SWABI: The Department of Pharmacy at the University of Swabi has concluded the three-day 3rd International Pharmacy Conference and Exhibition, held from July 26 to 28 at the University of Peshawar’s Baragali Summer Campus.
The conference was organised under the theme “Bridging Academia, Pharmaceutical Industry, Regulatory Authorities and Clinical Practice.” Official conference material confirmed the dates and venue of the event.
The event aimed to strengthen collaboration among universities, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organisations and drug regulatory authorities.
Researchers, pharmacists, academics, clinicians, principal investigators and representatives of hospitals, universities and pharmaceutical companies from Pakistan and abroad participated in the conference.
Focus on Research and Healthcare Innovation
During the three-day event, participants exchanged research findings, professional experiences and ideas concerning drug development, clinical practice, pharmaceutical technology and healthcare innovation.
Experts stressed that stronger cooperation between academia and the pharmaceutical industry was essential to address emerging healthcare challenges and improve the availability of safe, effective and affordable medicines.
The conference also sought to promote applied research, technological development, commercial opportunities and sustainable growth in Pakistan’s healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
Baragali has served as the University of Peshawar’s summer campus since 1965 and provides facilities for academic conferences, workshops and research activities.
Recommendations Issued
The conference concluded with recommendations calling for closer academia-industry cooperation, stronger clinical pharmacy services and greater support for research-led development in the pharmaceutical sector.
Participants also emphasised the need to improve coordination among universities, hospitals, industry stakeholders and regulatory institutions so that scientific research can be translated into practical healthcare solutions.
The University of Swabi said the conference provided an important platform for building professional networks and encouraging collaboration across the pharmacy and healthcare sectors.
