ISLAMABAD, July 5, 2026: The federal government has issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) allowing the Indian volleyball team to travel to Pakistan for the upcoming CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship, clearing the way for its participation in the regional tournament later this month.

The decision, made under Pakistan’s sports diplomacy policy, enables India to compete in the championship scheduled to take place in Islamabad from July 22 to 29. The move is expected to ensure participation from all invited teams and strengthen regional sporting ties.

Pakistan Volleyball Federation confirms approval

Pakistan Volleyball Federation Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob confirmed that the government had granted the NOC for the Indian team and that Indian authorities had been formally informed of the decision.

He expressed hope that the Indian squad would travel to Pakistan as scheduled and participate in the tournament without any delays.

Ten nations set to compete in Islamabad

According to the Pakistan Volleyball Federation, all arrangements for the championship have been completed. The event is expected to be one of the largest international volleyball competitions hosted by Pakistan in recent years.

The tournament will feature teams from Pakistan, India, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka.

Officials say the championship will provide Pakistan’s national team with an opportunity to compete against strong regional opponents while supporting the continued development of volleyball in the country.
