ISLAMABAD: The Floral Art Society of Pakistan (FASP) held its annual general meeting at Serena Hotel Islamabad on August 18, combining its yearly review with a special demonstration on the use of geometry in floral design.

The meeting opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the secretary’s report presented by Bushra Maqsood, who reviewed the society’s major activities and events held during the previous year.

Treasurer Hina Kamran later presented the financial report, outlining the organisation’s financial position and activities.

A key highlight of the event was a floral art demonstration by Neven Syed, an accomplished floral designer and Ikebana expert, who attended as chief guest.

Syed presented a session on “Floral Geometry,” demonstrating how geometric principles such as lines, shapes, angles, symmetry, proportion, repetition and space can be used to structure floral arrangements.

During the demonstration, she showcased seven specially created arrangements, each carrying an individual title and illustrating a different approach to geometric composition in floral design.

FASP President Nahida Raza thanked the chief guest for the demonstration and presented her with a token of appreciation.

Raza also introduced the society’s new executive committee during the meeting.

The AGM concluded with a social gathering for members, including refreshments and birthday gifts for members celebrating their birthdays.
