A new spiritual and reflective book, Awakening: Echoes of Inner Self, by Dr Lalarukh Maqbool has been launched, adding a new voice to Pakistan’s contemporary reflective and spiritual literature.
The book is being described by its compiler as one of Pakistan’s first spiritual works authored by a practicing gynecologist. It explores themes of inner awakening, silence, thought, imagination, self-discovery and the journey of the human soul.
Dr Lalarukh Maqbool is a senior gynecologist serving as District Gynecologist in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A graduate of Ayub Medical College Abbottabad, she completed her specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.
She has served in leading civil and military healthcare institutions, including Combined Military Hospital and institutions linked with the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force. Alongside her medical career, she has remained associated with women’s healthcare and humanitarian service.
Awakening: Echoes of Inner Self reflects the author’s personal journey from unanswered questions and inner restlessness toward meaning, spiritual reflection and peace. The book also draws on the influence of AlHuda International Institute in shaping her spiritual understanding.
The book has been compiled by Prof M. Aurangzeb, an academic researcher, discourse analyst and scholar of Sufism. He described the compilation process as a deeply transformative experience.
“This book is not merely words on paper; it is a journey of the soul, a call to awaken the light within,” he said.
The book is aimed at readers interested in spirituality, philosophy, psychology, reflective writing and literature focused on life, purpose and inner transformation.
According to online book listings and promotional posts, Awakening: Echoes of Inner Self is available through selected bookshops in Peshawar and Islamabad, including Pashto Academy Book Shop and other listed outlets.
