Islamabad | April 30, 2026: COMSATS University Islamabad hosted an art exhibition titled “The Imperfect Canvas”, bringing together artists from across Pakistan to explore themes of human resilience, growth, and transformation.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Rubina Awan, who said such initiatives provide young people with platforms to express creativity and contribute to cultural development. The event, held at the Islamabad campus, was attended by university leadership and artists.
Curated by Farah Mehmood Rana, the exhibition features works by 35 artists and presents human challenges as part of personal growth rather than limitation. Organisers said the concept encourages viewers to reflect on imperfection as a source of learning and self-awareness.
Diverse artistic expressions
The exhibition includes more than 80 artworks, ranging from paintings and photography to sculpture. The pieces explore emotional experiences, internal conflicts, and social realities, offering varied interpretations of human endurance and expression.
Artists from multiple cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Bahawalpur, are represented, reflecting a broad cultural and academic diversity.
Focus on culture and youth engagement
Rector Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar highlighted the role of art in promoting creativity and preserving cultural heritage, noting Pakistan’s long-standing artistic traditions.
Dr. Rubina Awan said the exhibition aligns with broader efforts to support youth development and creative expression, adding that initiatives in arts and culture contribute to a more inclusive and progressive society.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until May 22.
