HOLLYWOOD: Hollywood star Chris Evans has shared new details about Steve Rogers’ return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his role in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.
Evans first portrayed Steve Rogers, better known as Captain America, in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger and continued in the role through Avengers: Endgame.
Following Endgame, Evans stepped away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and said he was happy to retire from the character. However, the story of Avengers: Doomsday ultimately convinced him to return to the Marvel universe.
Speaking at Fan Expo Boston, Evans said directors Anthony and Joe Russo enjoy putting Steve Rogers in difficult situations.
According to the actor, the Russo brothers believe a true hero is someone who continues to get back up despite repeatedly facing setbacks and challenges.
Evans indicated that Steve Rogers will face even greater difficulties in Avengers: Doomsday, suggesting that the character’s journey will be particularly challenging.
The upcoming film also features Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth among its cast. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 18.
