Chinese Cultural Delegation Visits China Window Peshawar, Calls for Stronger People-to-People Ties

PESHAWAR: A Chinese cultural delegation has appreciated the efforts of China Window Peshawar in promoting Chinese culture and strengthening people-to-people relations between Pakistan and China.

Advisor to China Cultural Center in Pakistan Ms. Bai Jie and Director of Pak-China Cultural & Economic Progress Welfare Organization Chen Tiantang visited China Window in Peshawar, where they reviewed its cultural, educational and public diplomacy initiatives.

During the visit, the delegation toured different galleries of China Window and received briefings on programmes aimed at introducing Pakistani youth to Chinese language, history, culture and the longstanding friendship between the two countries.

The Chinese representatives praised China Window’s role in creating a platform for cultural understanding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying such initiatives could help transform the strong Pakistan-China strategic partnership into deeper public-level connections.

Proposal for Reciprocal Cultural Exchanges

During discussions, both sides explored the possibility of launching reciprocal cultural exchange visits between citizens of Pakistan and China.

Ms. Bai Jie and Chen Tiantang welcomed the proposal, saying direct interaction among students, professionals, cultural representatives and civil society members could play an important role in promoting mutual understanding and strengthening long-term friendship.

China Window proposed hosting a delegation of Chinese citizens in Pakistan as an initial step toward practical people-to-people exchanges.

Under the proposed initiative, Chinese visitors would be provided opportunities to explore Pakistan’s culture, history and tourism while interacting with students, academics, professionals and media representatives.

Expanding Pakistan-China Public Diplomacy

Both sides agreed that cultural exchanges should be a two-way process, with future visits of Pakistani delegations to China also encouraged.

Representatives of China Window said that while Pakistan-China relations have strong strategic foundations, greater focus on people-to-people connectivity would further strengthen the social dimension of the partnership.

The Chinese delegation expressed hope that continued cultural cooperation and reciprocal visits would create new opportunities in education, youth engagement, culture and public diplomacy.

The initiative is expected to contribute toward enhancing mutual trust and further strengthening the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and China.
