ISLAMABAD, June 4: BYD Pakistan has released Time Machine, the third episode of its travel and storytelling series The Great Pakistan Adventure, highlighting Sindh’s cultural heritage, natural landscapes and local communities through a journey across the province.

The latest episode follows creator and storyteller Maryam Raja as she travels through Sukkur, the Indus River region and Gorakh Hill, exploring the history, traditions and everyday life that continue to shape one of Pakistan’s oldest cultural regions.

According to BYD Pakistan, the episode aims to document local experiences and community stories while showcasing lesser-known destinations and cultural traditions across Sindh.

The journey includes a visit to the Indus River near Sukkur, home to the endangered blind Indus dolphin. The episode highlights the relationship between local communities and the river ecosystem, as well as ongoing efforts that contribute to the conservation of the rare freshwater species.

Focus on culture, heritage and local communities

The documentary-style episode also travels to Gorakh Hill, where viewers are introduced to local hospitality, traditional food and community life in one of Sindh’s most distinctive landscapes.

Through conversations with residents and visits to remote locations, the programme explores themes of cultural identity, environmental connection and regional heritage.

BYD Pakistan said the series seeks to present stories that go beyond tourism by focusing on people, traditions and communities that contribute to the country’s cultural diversity.

Journey powered by BYD Shark 6

The expedition was conducted using the BYD Shark 6, a plug-in hybrid electric pickup truck designed for varying terrain and road conditions.

According to the company, the vehicle was used throughout the journey to navigate riverbanks, sandy areas and elevated routes, supporting travel to locations that are often difficult to access.

Commenting on the project, Syed Haider Mujtaba, Head of Marketing at BYD Pakistan-MMC, said the series is intended to showcase the people, cultures and communities that make different regions of Pakistan unique.

Time Machine is part of BYD Pakistan’s broader initiative to highlight overlooked destinations and local stories through long-form travel content. The episode is available on BYD Pakistan’s official YouTube channel.
