KARACHI: Veteran Pakistani actor Bushra Ansari has expressed concern over Pakistan’s rising population, calling for greater awareness of family planning and responsible decision-making to address economic and social challenges.

Speaking during a recent appearance on a private television program, Bushra Ansari discussed population growth while responding to a broader conversation that included both serious and light-hearted topics.

The actor said she has frequently spoken about the issue and believes population growth deserves greater public attention. Referring to past awareness campaigns, she noted that family planning messages were once more visible in public spaces.

Calls for responsible planning

Bushra Ansari said that while sustenance ultimately comes from God, people are also expected to make informed and responsible choices. She argued that having large families without adequate resources can place financial pressure on both households and society.

According to the actor, many families already face difficulties meeting basic needs, and rapid population growth can further strain available resources and opportunities for future generations.

Public discussion on population challenges

Her remarks have renewed discussion around population management, family planning, and the economic impact of demographic growth in Pakistan. The issue has long been debated by policymakers, health experts, and social organizations concerned with sustainable development and access to public services.

Bushra Ansari’s comments were made during a television interview and reflect her personal views on a subject that continues to be discussed across the country.
