QUETTA: The Balochistan government has completed preparations for the Peoples Air Ambulance service, aimed at improving emergency medical access in remote and underserved regions, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said.
He said the service is ready for rollout and will be formally inaugurated by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the coming days. The initiative is designed to enable rapid transfer of critically ill and injured patients to major hospitals, addressing long-standing gaps in healthcare access across the province.
Officials said the air ambulance will support emergency response during accidents, natural disasters, and other critical situations, particularly in far-flung areas where advanced medical facilities are limited.
The project is part of the provincial government’s broader plan to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve response times in emergencies. Authorities expect the service to help reduce delays in treatment and improve survival outcomes by ensuring faster medical evacuation.
