Fans of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan may miss their annual birthday celebration with the actor this year, as his traditional meet-and-greet event in Mumbai has reportedly been cancelled.
November 2 is a special occasion for Khan’s fans, many of whom traditionally gather outside his Mumbai residence, Mannat, hoping to catch a glimpse of the superstar on his birthday.
In recent years, fans have also had the opportunity to attend special events at Mumbai’s Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, where Khan meets supporters, answers their questions and spends time with them. Media representatives are reportedly not permitted to attend these gatherings.
However, as Shah Rukh Khan prepares to turn 61 on November 2, fans may have to celebrate without the customary event.
Film Shooting Keeps Shah Rukh Khan in London
According to Indian media reports cited by Geo News, the annual meet-and-greet scheduled for November 2 has been cancelled this year because Khan is busy shooting his upcoming film, King.
The actor is expected to be in London on his birthday, where a song sequence for the film is scheduled to be shot.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King features Shah Rukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Anil Kapoor, among other prominent actors.
The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 24.
For fans who look forward to celebrating their favourite star’s birthday in person, the reported cancellation is likely to come as a disappointment.
