Pakistan cricketer Salman Agha has praised Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam, describing them as two of the best One-Day International (ODI) players of the past decade. He said both batters have won numerous matches for Pakistan and expressed hope that they would deliver strong performances in the upcoming final.

Speaking at a press conference, Salman acknowledged that Pakistan’s top order had not performed as consistently as expected. He said the team hoped its top-three batters would rise to the occasion in the final.

“We also aim to score 350 runs. If we can turn our fifties into centuries, the situation could be different,” he said.

Pakistan Yet to Deliver Its Best Performance

Salman said Pakistan had not played a perfect game so far, adding that even in matches the team had won, there had been shortcomings. He agreed with the coach’s assessment that the side had yet to produce its best cricket.

He also said that captaincy brought additional pressure and admitted that he now felt less pressure after losing the leadership role.

Salman added that Pakistan should have won the first match against England more comfortably but remained confident that the team had the ability to win the final.

Salman Backs Babar and Fakhar

The Pakistan batter expressed hope that Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman would perform well in the final, highlighting their contributions to the national team over the years.

He said it was difficult to determine how many opportunities an individual player should receive, noting that scoring runs consistently in international cricket was not easy. According to Salman, players experiencing a difficult period should be given time to overcome their struggles.

He also recalled memorable performances by Abdul Razzaq and Shadab Khan, saying such innings remain significant moments in Pakistan cricket.
