SHANGLA: A comprehensive anti-drug awareness campaign titled “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life” is gaining momentum across Shangla, with private schools, colleges and universities actively engaging students in educational and public awareness activities.

As part of the campaign, awareness seminars, walks, debates and outreach sessions have been organized in educational institutions across the district to highlight the harmful effects of narcotics and promote a healthy and productive lifestyle.

Students carrying placards with anti-drug slogans participated in awareness walks, while teachers, educationists, community leaders and social workers joined efforts to spread the message against substance abuse among young people.

The main objective of the campaign is to educate students about the devastating consequences of drug addiction, encourage positive life choices and promote collective responsibility for building a healthier and safer society.

During different events, students delivered speeches, presented creative charts and displayed awareness messages about the physical, psychological and social dangers linked to drug use.

Speakers appreciated the students for their confidence, creativity and ability to communicate strong messages on one of the most serious social challenges facing society.

They said drug addiction not only damages an individual’s health, education and future prospects but also causes serious harm to families and communities.

Addressing the gatherings, speakers described drug abuse as a “silent poison” that gradually destroys the talent, character and educational achievements of young people.

They urged students to focus on education, character-building, constructive activities and service to the nation instead of falling victim to harmful habits and negative influences.

The speakers said a bright and successful future depends on a healthy lifestyle, positive friendships and active participation in educational, recreational and community development activities.

They added that parents, teachers, social workers and all segments of society share a collective responsibility to guide young people and protect them from substance abuse and addiction.

According to organizers, the ongoing campaign is part of a broader district-wide effort to strengthen public awareness about the dangers of narcotics.

Similar activities under the banner of “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life” have already been held at the University of Shangla, public and private colleges, higher secondary schools and other educational institutions across the district.

Participants reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the anti-drug campaign and pledged to play an active role in creating a safe, positive and constructive environment for the younger generation.

At the conclusion of the events, speakers said “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life” is not only a slogan but a vision for building a healthy, capable and responsible society.

They emphasized that achieving this goal requires sustained cooperation among educational institutions, parents, community leaders and all stakeholders committed to protecting the future of the youth.
