Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is likely to launch 30 electric buses in various areas of the federal capital on July 5 (anna) for the convenience of citizens.
“The buses arrived in Islamabad last month to ease the problems faced by the tourists of the twin cities,”
Sources said the inauguration ceremony is likely to be attended by top officials, CDA officials and other relevant departments.
CDA Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa has not only provided more facilities to the residents of the capital but also made many efforts to beautify the city with modern trends.
They said that this bus will pass through two routes namely National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Bari Imam.
The first line will start from NUST and pass through G-11 Center, G-10 Center, G-9 Center and G-8 Center and will end at PIMS, he said.
They said that the second road will start from PIMS, pass through G-7, G-6, Melody, Aabpara, Ataturk Road, Serena Hotel, Foreign Office, Pakistan Pakistan and Diplomatic Enclave and end at Bari Imam.
Sources said authorities are planning to operate more buses in Islamabad as 70 more such vehicles are expected to arrive from the capital Karachi. After production, another 60 buses will go to China to Islamabad.
On the other hand, they said that the remaining 130 buses will operate on 11 routes to connect rural and urban areas of the federal capital.
They said 30 buses will operate from the Convention Center, which initially built a CDA charging station with six charging points.
He said that CDA has set up facilities at H-9 metro depot for another 70 buses from Karachi to Islamabad. Sources said the CDA is working on the construction of bus depots at three different locations including Zero Point, I-9 and Taramri.
