Kohat — Water and Sanitation Services Company (WSSC) Kohat has finalised a special cleanliness plan for Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, deploying additional staff and machinery to maintain sanitation across the city during the festive period. The initiative aims to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for residents and worshippers.

According to officials, the operation will involve 346 personnel and 48 vehicles, with activities already underway in different parts of the city. The plan includes road cleaning, washing, and sanitation measures at key public locations, particularly Eidgahs and mosques.

Preparations and operational plan

WSSC Kohat began preparatory work earlier in March, including the maintenance and repair of operational vehicles between March 1 and March 20 to ensure uninterrupted service.

A coordination meeting with supervisors was held on March 16, where officials outlined responsibilities and provided detailed briefings on the Eid cleanliness strategy.

Focus on public spaces and worship areas

As part of the plan, cleaning of major roads has already started, supported by specialised road-washing machinery. Authorities said special attention is being given to Eidgahs and mosques, where cleaning and washing operations are ongoing.

Officials added that lime application is also being carried out at these locations to improve hygiene conditions ahead of Eid prayers.

Emergency response and complaint system

To address potential emergencies, water supply teams will remain on standby, with water tankers available to ensure timely supply if needed.

The WSSC Kohat complaint cell will remain fully operational during Eid, allowing citizens to report sanitation issues through the helpline number 1334.
