Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan once declined to collect the remaining Rs9.5 million of his acting fee for the film Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Indian filmmaker K.C. Bokadia has revealed.

In an interview with Indian media, Bokadia discussed how some of Bollywood’s leading actors treated film producers and their colleagues during past productions.

He said actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Jackie Shroff and Rajinikanth did not burden producers with expenses related to their personal staff.

According to Bokadia, senior actors also maintained a friendly relationship with film crews, often sharing meals with team members and treating everyone on set without discrimination.

Recalling his experience with Shah Rukh Khan, the filmmaker said he had signed the actor for Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam for Rs20 million. However, only Rs10.5 million had been paid, leaving Rs9.5 million outstanding.

Bokadia said Shah Rukh Khan told his son that he did not wish to receive the remaining amount because of the respect he held for the filmmaker.

The revelation has highlighted the actor’s reported professional relationship with the producer and his approach to working with film teams.
