Why Govinda Told Salman Khan He Didn’t Look Like a Hero

Bollywood actor Govinda has recalled a conversation with Salman Khan before their 2007 film Partner, saying he encouraged the actor to overcome a difficult period and focus on himself.

Speaking to Indian news agency ANI, Govinda said Salman was going through several challenges before the film and had become quiet, stressed and troubled. He recalled telling Salman that although he was a hero, he did not currently look like one because he appeared unhappy and worried.

Govinda Advised Salman to Focus on Himself

According to Govinda, he told Salman that he had spent enough time looking outward and needed to look within himself.

When Salman asked what he should do, Govinda advised him to exercise for two to three hours every day, believing that physical activity could help him regain his confidence and energy.

Govinda also praised Salman’s screen presence, telling him that after veteran actor Dharmendra, he was among the actors blessed with a strong personality and natural charisma.

He further expressed confidence that Salman would go on to dominate the film industry in the years ahead.

Salman and Govinda Starred in Partner

Released in 2007, Partner featured Salman Khan and Govinda in lead roles. The comedy was well received by audiences, and the pairing of the two actors became one of the film’s major attractions.

Govinda’s recent comments offer a glimpse into the advice he gave Salman before the movie and his belief in the actor’s potential at the time.
