JAMAICA: Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka, with captain Shai Hope set to lead the side in the three-match contest at Sabina Park from June 3 to June 8.

The series marks an important phase in the West Indies’ preparations for qualification for the 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup. The hosts will also be looking to extend their unbeaten home ODI series run to five consecutive victories.

West Indies have welcomed back fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who has been out of ODI action since July 2025 due to a back injury. Spinner Gudakesh Motie also returns after missing the team’s tour of New Zealand last year.

Batsman Shimron Hetmyer has been recalled to the ODI setup following strong recent performances in international cricket. According to CWI, the inclusion is part of the team’s long-term planning for the 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup. Hetmyer is expected to join the squad ahead of the third match of the series.

Head coach Daren Sammy said the team’s recent success at home has helped build confidence as they prepare to face Sri Lanka.

The squad arrived in Jamaica on May 31 after completing a 10-day training camp at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
