Veteran Pakistani actor Wasim Abbas has confirmed for the first time that he and fellow actor Saba Hameed ended their marriage several years ago, revealing that their 29-year marriage has legally come to an end.

Speaking in a recent interview, Abbas said the couple had been living separately for the past 14 years. Despite their separation, he said they maintained a respectful relationship and continued to work together on various projects.

The actor said they occasionally met as friends and would have meals together. He added that he would have no hesitation working with Saba Hameed again if offered a suitable acting project.

Reflecting on the divorce, Abbas said he did not feel regret over the decision, explaining that the emotional bond necessary to sustain the marriage had gradually faded. He also clarified that the couple did not have children together.

Abbas said he always maintained cordial relations with Saba Hameed’s family and stressed that mutual respect remained the foundation of their relationship, even after their separation.

He also noted that neither he nor Saba Hameed had spoken negatively about each other in the media, adding that both chose to protect each other’s dignity.

Commenting on his second marriage, Abbas said he believed it was the right decision at the time, although he now feels it may not have been the best choice. However, he said he has no regrets about how events unfolded.

The veteran actor also ruled out marrying again, saying he is now a grandfather, lives with his children and his first wife, and has no plans for another marriage.

Saba Hameed has not publicly commented on Abbas’s remarks.
