Pakistani trader and cryptocurrency educator Waqar Zaka has moved into first place on the latest provisional leaderboard of an ongoing international TradFi trading competition, according to rankings circulated on Thursday.
The updated standings showed Zaka leading participants from several countries after recording a reported profit-and-loss performance of 74% and trading volume exceeding 42.5 million USDT. The competition remains underway, meaning the rankings can still change before the final result is confirmed.
The latest position marks a sharp rise for Zaka, who had been reported in fifth place earlier in the contest, behind traders representing China, South Korea, the United States and Japan.
Rankings Remain Provisional
The TradFi trading competition requires participants to use real capital rather than demonstration accounts, increasing both the financial risk and the significance of performance during the event.
Participants reportedly trade across several asset classes, including foreign exchange, precious metals, US-listed shares and cryptocurrencies. Unlike contests based solely on total profit, the leaderboard is said to consider factors such as percentage returns, trading activity and compliance with competition rules.
Because the event has not yet concluded, Zaka’s current first-place position does not amount to a final victory. Leaderboards in trading contests can shift rapidly as market prices, open positions and participant returns change.
Earlier reporting said the competition’s winner would receive a Mercedes-Benz G-Class. However, the final prize and winner remain subject to the organiser’s official rules and confirmation after the competition closes.
Pakistan’s Trading Community Watches Final Stages
Zaka’s move to the top has drawn attention from traders and cryptocurrency followers in Pakistan, where his online content focuses on digital assets, market analysis and trading education.
He has previously participated in international cryptocurrency and trading events, while also campaigning for wider financial literacy and formal regulation of digital assets in Pakistan.
The latest ranking gives Pakistan a prominent position on the provisional international leaderboard, but the outcome will depend on whether Zaka can retain his lead through the final stages.
Organisers are expected to confirm the final standings after reviewing participants’ results and eligibility under the competition rules.
