WAH CANTT: A woman from Wah Model Town has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and IG Punjab for the recovery of her two minor sons, who she says were allegedly taken away by her former husband five months ago.
Safia Ambreen told journalists that her three-year-old son Hussain Bin Ali and two-year-old son Qasim were allegedly abducted on March 19, shortly before Iftar during Ramazan.
According to Safia, her former husband, along with his parents and others, allegedly entered her house and forcibly took the children away. She said she had divorced her husband about a year ago and had been living with her widowed mother.
Safia said a case was registered and police conducted raids in the suspects’ native village near Khanqah Dogran in Sheikhupura district, but the children have not yet been recovered.
She appealed to the chief minister and police authorities to ensure the arrest of the accused and use all available resources to trace her sons.
A police spokesperson said an FIR was registered under Sections 452, 506 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code after the incident was reported. The spokesperson said the nominated suspects had been declared proclaimed offenders by the court.
Police said raids were conducted to arrest the suspects and efforts were continuing to recover the two children.
