SWABI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Tariq Mahmood Arian removed a tehsildar from his post during a surprise visit to Tehsil Razzar and the Service Delivery Centre in Swabi after receiving public complaints about delays and harassment.
The minister visited Tehsil Razzar along with Director Land Record Yasir Hassan and inspected the Tehsildar Razzar Office and SDC Razzar.
During the visit, citizens complained that they were being unnecessarily harassed in revenue offices and that officials were using different excuses to delay their work.
Taking notice of the complaints, the minister directed the Director Land Record to remove the tehsildar from his post immediately and initiate strict departmental action.
Tariq Mahmood Arian said the government would not rest until basic facilities were provided to the public. He said no official had the right to harass citizens or delay their legitimate work.
He also directed revenue officials to treat people with respect and resolve their issues on a priority basis.
