Pakistani former supermodel and actress Vaneeza Ahmed has urged women to carefully read their Nikah Nama before marriage and understand the terms and rights outlined in the document.
Speaking on Waseem Chaudhry’s show, Ahmed revealed that despite being highly educated, she herself did not read her Nikah Nama until she faced issues related to her divorce. She said women should not hesitate to ask questions about the conditions listed in the marriage document or about their legal rights.
Parents Should Educate Daughters About Marriage Rights
Ahmed also urged parents to encourage their daughters to read and understand every clause of the Nikah Nama before signing it.
She claimed that clauses concerning women’s rights can sometimes be left out of the document, making it important for women and their families to carefully review its contents before marriage.
According to Ahmed, marriage may involve matters of fate, but women should still educate themselves about their rights and take steps to protect their interests and future.
